Update (12/1/2022): IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING THE JERSEY DEVIL DRYLAND CHALLENGE
Due to the forecasted weather for this weekend, PSDC has decided to cancel Saturday’s schedule and run the race on Sunday only. A mandatory drivers meeting will occur on Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. and the first class will begin at 9:00 a.m.. Start sheets will be posted by Friday evening on the Facebook event page.

All wheeled classes will have one minute start times. The Canicross race will begin with the men followed by two waves of women 5 minutes later. There will be two minutes between the women’s waves. An awards ceremony will follow a brief break to clean up the trail.
IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID FOR YOUR PSDC MEMBERSHIP AND HAVE NOT SIGNED A MEMBERSHIP FORM, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RACE. THERE ARE SEVERAL ENTRANTS WHO AT THIS TIME ARE NOT MEMBERS. BRING A CASH OR CHECK IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID FOR YOUR MEMBERSHIP. MEMBERSHIP FORMS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE RACE SITE TO SIGN.
Remember to bring water for your dogs! There is no running water access on site.

Update (11/29/2022): The Pennsylvania Sled Dog Club is excited that you will be joining us for the Fall Jersey Devil Dryland Challenge! To help prepare you to have a successful race, here is a list of things that you need to know.
• DRIVERS MEETING – Saturday only at 8:00 a.m. . The race on Saturday begins at 9:00 a.m. Sunday’s race begins at 8:30. No Sunday driver’s meeting unless needed.
• RACE PARTICIPANT ASSISTANCE – To ensure there is enough help for everyone in the 4 and 6 dog classes will have sign-up sheets for helping rig teams to the starting cute. There will also be sign up sheets for trail help in each class. We ask that everyone pitch in and sign up for a shift. We will make sure you are back before the start of the next class.
• RACE RULES – We will not be reading the rules line by line at the race. It is your responsibility to be familiar with them. The official ISDRA rules can be found at this link.
There will be a few paper copies of the race rules available at the officials table for viewing. If you prefer listening to the race rules, you can hear them on a video that The Trailbreakers of OH did for their race. Please keep in mind, these are somewhat tailored to a different race. We will go over the specifics to our race live at 8:30 am.

ALL DRIVERS MUST COMPLETE A DRIVER’S REPORT FOR EACH CLASS ENTERED.
PSDC is trying to eliminate paper waste! Below is the link to ISDRA’s online driver report. BOOKMARK IT ON YOUR PHONE! Take a screenshot of each driver’s report you submit and you will be entered into a raffle for prizes which will be pulled at the awards ceremony. Paper copies will be available if you cannot get signal. Double raffle tickets for online drivers reports!
• FACILITIES AT THE RACE SITE – There is no water access at the race site. Be sure to bring your own on both days. There is a stream available if you need to cool off your dog. There is a permanent outhouse on site. No electricity is available.
• FOOD CONCESSIONS – PSDC will have food concessions available at affordable prices. Proceeds benefit the spring dryland race purse.

Registration Information:
• PSDC membership is required for all participants. You will not race if you are not a current member.
• Entry Fees: Pro $45 / Registered Breed $45 / Sportsman $35 / Junior $20
• In the event that the race is cancelled, class registration fees will be refunded except the Bytepro fee. No changes to registration will occur after registration closes.

by Monday, 11/28 at 11:59 p.m. EST for review by the Registered Breed Officials. Registered Breed drivers who do not submit paperwork before the deadline will automatically race in the Pro/All Breed class. Paperwork should be readily available on race day for further review if requested.
• Dogs who have raced and been registered with PSDC from 2016-2022 do not need to be resubmitted.
• Registered Breeds must be AKC/CKC/UKC Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, or Samoyeds - No PAL/ILP Dogs
• Entries close Monday, November 28 at 11:59 p.m. EST. No late entries!
• All entries will be via Event Byte. No phone, email, social media, or fax entries will be accepted.
Other Race Weekend Information:
• Mandatory Virtual Drivers meeting will be posted to the PSDC event page the week of the race.
• Drivers Meeting Update at the race site Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m.
• First class leaves the starting chute at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. Start times subject to change with weather conditions.
• Park in your same spot for Day 1 and Day 2. DOG TRAILER (not TRUCK) DRIVERS, PLEASE CONTACT MEREDITH MICHENER TO RESERVE PREFERRED PARKING).
• The race is run using ISDRA Dryland Race Rules.
• Bibs will be collected after day 1 and redistributed Sunday morning according to day 1's finish times.
PSDC Policies:
• PSDC Membership required to race. All new members are required to sign a membership waiver at race packet pickup or prior to the race.
• All drivers in any dryland wheeled class shall wear an adequate and properly fitted helmet and protective eyewear.
• A snub line is required for rig classes.
• All dogs must be on leash at all PSDC events.
• Clean up after your dogs properly and take your trash with you.
• No sick dogs shall be brought to a race. All dogs shall be up to date on all relevant vaccines.
Lodging:
• Camping is available on-site for participants: You need to eserve your Brendan T. Byrne State Forest camping by calling (609)726-1191. Participant will be place in a reserved loop. PROOF OF VACCINATION IS REQUIRED.
• A list of pet friendly hotels and contact information is listed on the Facebook Event Page. Please call in advance to check availability. As always, please follow all hotel regulations regarding pets so we will be welcomed back.

"NO PRESENCE - NO PRESENTS" Policy:
All contestants who have won awards at PSDC events must be present at the designated awards ceremony to receive his/her awards. If the winner cannot be present, it is the award winner's responsibility to designate a person to pick up award(s) and to notify the race organizer that a substitution is being made. Our sponsors deserve this respect. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in the monies not being awarded. Monies will go back into the general fund and will be added to the club's contribution the following year.
Trail Information:
• Trail surface is packed sand throughout. It is relatively flat with wide, sweeping turns. The trail is double track or wider in all locations.
• The distance is 3.8 miles for wheeled classes, 1.7 miles for canicross and the “We love to Run” class.

• From NJ Turnpike: Exit 7 to Route 206 South to Route 70 East. Continue on 70 east 1.6 miles past 70-72 circle. Turn right at the light onto Forest Avenue. Follow the road until you reach a 4 way intersection with a dirt road straight ahead and turn right - keeping on the paved road. Follow the paved road about 1 mile to the race site at the corner of Dry Pond Road and Butterworth Road.
• From GS Parkway: Take exit for Rt. 70 West. Park entrance is on Rt. 70 about 8 miles west of Rt. 70-539 intersection (Exxon station on corner). Pass the sign for Country Lakes and at about mile marker 30.5 you will make a left turn at sign for Mt. Misery and follow arrows about 4 miles into forest to race site. (Alternately you can continue on 70 West another 2 miles to enter the park at Forest Road and follow the directions above)
