A virtual race during these Covid times!

This race is based solely on the number of miles you run your team. You'll be out training anyway, so this hopefully gives some incentive. Please read the rules carefully before you enter. This is not like other virtual “races”.

Must be a member of PSDC. You may join for a full membership: senior or family. Or, for virtual races only, we offer a Covid membership of $10 that is good only for virtual races from PSDC. This is a non-voting membership. Should you decide to enter a real race later in the season, you will be required to pay the full membership fee with a credit for what you have already paid. (Club membership runs from June 1, 2020- May 31, 2021. If you paid a membership to run one of our races in 2019-2020 your account ended May 31, 2020.)

Each musher may only enter one team in one race, so choose wisely which category you want for you and your team. You must provide names and photos of all dogs on your team. No switching dogs. You must be able to provide proof of miles run and time via a GPS app. We also encourage everyone to post photos of your team each week under the event section of Facebook.

You will state your choice of race and name your team members through email to: Donna Quante (djqhusky at yahoo dot com) and Laurie Stone (stonemyst2001 at yahoo dot com). You must email both of us. You will then receive an invoice from Marsha Stoffa, club treasurer, for your payment through Paypal. Do not send money until you receive an invoice. (You do not need a PayPal account to pay, just a credit card.)

Each week, which will run Sunday-Saturday, you will send your stats and GPS info for up to three runs to Laurie and Donna. You must email both of us with this information. Your miles will be added together. In the event of a tie after 6 weeks, we will use times to determine a winner.

We are allowing 100 teams to enter. There is no registered breed category. There is no junior category. Everyone runs as equals.

Categories:

Canicross (you have to run, no walkers):

  • 1 dog

  • 2 dogs

Caniwalk (walk your dog(s), no runners):

  • 1 dog

  • 2 dogs

Rigs (No ATV’s may be used):

  • 1-2 dogs

  • 3-4 dogs

  • 5-6 dogs

  • 7-8 dogs

Scooter/kickbike:

  • 1 dog

  • 2 dogs

Bikejor:

  • 1 dog

  • 2 dogs

Race Rules and Information:

  1. Entry fee is $10.00

  2. All teams will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the race. (It’s a cool certificate!) It will be emailed to you to print out.

  3. 1st-3rd place will receive recognition on Facebook page.
    Only first place in each class will receive a product from the PSDC Store.
    All results will be posted on Facebook.

  4. Race starts on October 4, 2020 at midnight and ends November 14, 2020 at 11:59 PM. (Facebook does not like multiple days.)

  5. You must run a minimum of 1-3 times every week to qualify. Send us your best runs up to 3 runs.

  6. Registration ends September 30, 2020 at midnight or when we have 100 entries. Payment must be received to be considered an entry, so don't delay. We will not accept late submissions.

  7. IMPORTANT!!! Weekly email reports must be received by Laurie and Donna no later than midnight Sunday after the Saturday end day. We will not accept late emails.
